Your guided Grand Teton and Yellowstone tour begins today! Meet your group and guides in Jackson, and get to know each other over lunch at a local brewery.
Then, set off for a hike to prepare for the week ahead. In the evening, enjoy a group dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants.
MEALS: Lunch & dinner
Get an early start in Grand Teton National Park to spot wildlife when it’s most active. You’ll spend several hours with your naturalist hiking guide exploring this unique national park and looking for bears, elk, bison, pronghorn, elk, and more!
In the afternoon, enjoy 3 hours floating down the scenic Snake River. Look out for moose and bald eagles, which are often spotted along the shores!
After the float, we’ll make our way to our campsite in Yellowstone National Park.
MEALS: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Early this morning, we head into the Lamar Valley, where wolves, bears, bison, and more are most active at dusk.
We’ll spend some time admiring the wildlife before setting off on a moderate hike. In the evening, relax at the camp while telling ghost stories around the glowing campfire.

This will be the most challenging day hike on our Yellowstone tour. Rest easy knowing that our expert guides will help you navigate the phenomenal trail to the Seven Mile Hole.
This trail combines Yellowstone’s best features – the rugged beauty of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, coniferous forests, robust wildlife, and active geothermal features along the trail.
Enjoy lunch at the base of the canyon before making the tough ascent back to camp. Shorter hikes are available for those who would like them!
In the evening, we’ll retire to our luxurious glamping accommodations in West Yellowstone.

Today is yet another day of riveting outdoor adventure! We hit Yellowstone’s most famous features: Grand Prismatic Spring and Old Faithful.
After enjoying nature’s show, we may have time for one last guided hike as part of the Yellowstone tour.
In the afternoon, we’ll slowly make our way back to Jackson for one final evening together.

Canyon Campground has running water, flush toilets, laundry, and hot showers, but it feels quite private as it is very wooded. We sleep 2 people in a tent unless a single supplement is requested.
We will dine at local restaurants and cafes at the beginning and end of our trip. The remaining meals will be prepared at camp or at picnic locations within the park. Breakfast might include breakfast burritos on the go, hearty oatmeal with fresh fruit, or eggs and potatoes. Lunch will typically include filling DIY sandwiches and snacks enjoyed on the trail or at a picnic location. At dinner, you can expect a warm meal at camp like pastas, rice dishes, tacos, or chili. These are all examples and our guides each have their favorite recipes to prepare! We are able to accommodate most dietary restrictions and preferences with advance notice.

Hiking in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River may include steep ascents and descents and stairs. However, there are more accessible viewpoints, and your guides will tailor the day to the group's abilities. We may also be walking on short wooden boardwalks above active thermal pools.

We are able to store carry-on sized luggage inside the tour vehicle while camping. You will also be able to store your luggage at the hotel and glamping site.

Yellowstone is one of the largest national park in the lower 48, and this backpacking trip offers just a glimpse of all that this park has to offer. We end the trip in Jackson Hole where you'll have the option to be dropped off at the airport or a nearby hotel that you book directly. If you'd like to extend your trip, we offer custom vacation packages that include accommodations and activities. We also offer private day tours that are expertly tailored to your interests and abilities. If you're interested in seeing more of the park before or after this trip, reach out to sales@goodtripadventures to review your options! Additional activities in this area include horseback riding, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and more!
Yellowstone and Grand Tetons have very extreme weather – in fact, the highest recorded difference in temperature in a 24-hour period was recorded in Montana at over 100 degrees! July can be warm and dry in the day, but cold in the evenings with highs in the 70s and lows in the 30s. It can snow any month of the year and often does!
