Climb Mt Toubkal in three days on this Toubkal journey into the forest and see some of the most stunning sights in the area. Travel through the highlands, stopping at traditional Berber towns along the way, then walking to the peak of Mt Toubkal on this exciting three-day expedition. We ascend Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa, which stands at 4167 meters in the Atlas Mountains. Toubkal trek 3 days is an excellent way to experience the top of Azzaden valley and climb Mt Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak, at 4167m (13600ft), gain stunning views of the Atlas Mountains, green valleys, and Berber villages, meet Berber guides and muleteers and embark on the adventure of a lifetime. A three-day trek including two days of walking with crampons and an ice ax for security (November to April). The plan is intended for experienced hikers since the ascent is not technically demanding but does include some simple scrambling and snow slopes.
Transfer from Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains: 1.5-hour journey to Imlil (1740m), a well-known climbing starting location. Explore the surroundings and trek up to the Tizi-n-Mezzik pass (2489m). Take in the breathtaking vista of Imlil and the Azzaden valley. Our cook cooked a field supper in the midst of a juniper forest. After lunch, take a stroll along the Azzaden Valley to the summer town of Tamssoult (2250m). Overnight at a refugee or refugee camp. 5 hours walking.
Today's ascent out of the Azzadene Valley to the Toubkal Refuge is very strenuous, passing through the Ighouliden waterfalls and across the 3,560m Tizi Aguelzim peak. Lunch will be served overlooking the Atlas Mountain Range. Overnight in the Toubkal Refuge (Niltner Hut or Mouflon), where you will most likely share a bunk room with other hikers attempting Toubkal the following morning. Seven-hour walk
Early start for the ascent to Toubkal (4,167m), from where clouds permit, you'll have spectacular views across the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert. The descent will be long, passing the refuge and following the well-worn trail back to Imlil. This is a rather lengthy day, requiring 8-9 hours of walking to ascend 900m and then descend over 2,500m to Imlil! You will generally be dropped off in Marrakech at about 5.00 pm.
